Sat 14th October – Country Trials – Himley Hall, Dudley.
Sat 18th November – Dave Sunderland Inter County fixture – Princethorpe College, Rugby. (West Mids – Cheshire – Warks – Staffs – H&Worcs – Surrey – Shrops – Merseyside – Cumbria).
Sat 20th January – West Mids Schools XC Champs – Warley Woods.
Sat 16th March – ESAA XC Champs – Pontefract racecourse, West Yorkshire.
West Mids Schools XC County Trials – Saturday 14th October – Himley Hall & Park, Himley, Dudley, DY3 4DF
Timetable: 10.00am Minor Girls (Yr 7) approx. 2K, 10.20am Minor Boys (Yr 7) approx. 2.5K, 10.40am Junior Girls (Yr 8 & 9) approx. 2.5K, 11.00am Junior Boys (Yr 8 &9) approx. 3.8K, 11.20am Inter Girls (Yr 10 & 11) approx. 3.8K, 11.40am Inter Boys (Yr 10 & 11) approx. 4.5K.
Please can athletes report to the tent by the start line at least 45mins to an hour before their race, to register and pick up their race number. The number must be securely pinned to the front of their vest/t-shirt. Safety-pins will be available on the day although we would ask athletes to bring their own pins where possible. There is an entry fee charge of £2 per athlete payable in cash on the day.
The top 10 athletes in each race will be invited to represent West Midlands Schools in the Inter-County fixture in November. A few extra discretionary places may be awarded to “in-form” athletes (by invitation only and based on current form from races such as MCAAA XC relays & WMYACCL races), providing we get the go-ahead from the Warks meeting organiser to run more than 10 in a team. So parents/clubs/coaches, please do nominate athletes for potential selection for these extra places.
